About
Sinister Three is an action-shooter 3D game developed in Unreal Engine 5 as part of the Computer Graphics and Multimedia Systems lab project at the Islamic University of Technology. Most of the 3D assets were created using Blender, while some were downloaded from Sketchfab, CGTrader etc., focusing on a stylized yet grounded visual approach. The game places you in the role of a heist operative executing an intense bank robbery, where you must breach security, engage in tactical firefights with armed guards, and fight your way through high-risk environments to successfully infiltrate and escape with the target prize.

My Contributions
As the lead Unreal Engine 5 developer on Sinister Three, I handled end-to-end development including gameplay design, technical implementation, AI systems, and optimization.
Gameplay Systems, AI & Core Mechanics
Designed and implemented core third-person shooter mechanics including aiming, shooting, cover-based combat, and movement systems
Developed enemy AI behaviors for bank security forces, including patrol units, alert states, and coordinated combat responses
Implemented combat encounter systems supporting dynamic firefights across indoor environments
Designed interaction systems for stealth and engagement, built gameplay rules around mission progression
Game Design & Progression
Structured gameplay around one continuous mission where three playable characters take sequential turns, each contributing to different stages of the heist
Designed character-specific roles and objectives, where each protagonist performs dedicated tasks essential to mission progression
Implemented progression flow that dynamically shifts control between characters as the heist escalates from entry to vault access and escape
Technical Implementation & Optimization
Developed the project in Unreal Engine 5 with a focus on real-time third-person shooter systems
Optimized level performance for large indoor bank environments with multiple combat zones
Handled asset integration and material consistency for Blender-made 3D assets within Unreal Engine
Resolved gameplay issues related to AI behavior, combat flow, and mission progression triggers
Animation, Rigging & Character Pipeline
Integrated character animations for shooting, reloading, aiming, vaulting, and cover transitions
Ensured smooth blending between combat and movement animations for responsive shooter gameplay
Managed character setup for both player and enemy models within Unreal Engine animation system
UI, UX & Game Flow
Designed UI elements for mission objectives, ammo tracking, health systems, and alert status indicators
Implemented clear player feedback for security detection levels and combat intensity
Improved mission clarity through objective markers and progression indicators during the heist
Structured game flow across distinct phases of infiltration, combat, and escape
Problem Solving & Iteration
Balanced stealth, action, and character-switching gameplay to maintain tension across infiltration, coordination, and combat sequences
Iteratively refined mission pacing, multi-character transitions, and encounter design through playtesting feedback
Optimized gameplay flow to ensure smooth handover between three playable characters and seamless escalation from stealth entry to full combat engagement
